What to Expect From Your Sleep Study Results.
Study results are evaluated
After your sleep study is completed at Mid South Sleep Diagnostic Center, the results of the study will undergo evaluation by a sleep technician. They will analyze the observations made during your study and review the data captured by the monitoring machines. This evaluation focuses on identifying any occurrences of apneas, hypopneas, or respiratory event-related arousals (RERAs). The sleep physician will then review the information and make a determination regarding the presence of a sleep disorder. Based on this evaluation, they will prescribe a suitable plan of care to address your specific needs.
Results are communicated to you
Once the results have been evaluated, our physician or Clinical Coordinator will contact you to communicate the findings. They will either schedule a follow-up appointment to discuss the results in detail or provide you with the results over the phone. Additionally, we will ensure that the study results are hand-delivered to your referring physician or Primary Care Physician, ensuring that they are kept informed about your condition.
Your treatment or plan of care is prescribed
Depending on the findings of the study, you may require treatment beyond simple improvements to your sleep environment or routine. The results might indicate the need for prescription medications, surgical intervention, or therapy such as Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP). We will work with a provider of your choice to coordinate the recommended therapy, ensuring that you can begin experiencing restful nights of sleep as soon as possible.
We monitor your progress and support you
Throughout your treatment, we will monitor your progress and provide ongoing support. We want to ensure that you are comfortable with the prescribed therapy and that you are benefiting from it.
